I'm Musa Cof from Offenbach am Main, Germany. I played Yu-Gi-Oh! for years and have now started with Riftbound.

Why I built LeaseCards
As a player I know the problems well. Borrowing or buying cards meant expensive shipping, the cards often did not arrive in time for the tournament, and sometimes letters simply got lost. After a banlist, cards were suddenly worth much less than before. Playing the current meta was punished.
You probably know this too: you buy a card because you think this is the deck. After the event it isn't, and you have to list the card online again, pack it and ship it.
That is why LeaseCards exists: for everyone who needs their cards on time for the event and does not want to pay a lot to play the current meta. You get the cards right at the tournament, no shipping, and return them afterwards.
And the collectors?
On the other side there are collectors, like my friend Ozan. He loves collecting cards, and many of them sit in his binder most of the time.
With LeaseCards he shows his collection in his binder, sells and trades cards right at the next local, without shipping and without waiting. The buyer pays upfront, Ozan gets the money after the handover.
And when a friend needs a card for a tournament, Ozan lends it for free; the QR code at the handover records who has it right now.

We deliberately start small: in Hesse, with Riftbound and Yu-Gi-Oh!, one local at a time. A few events where cards are really lent are better than many empty ones.
LeaseCards only earns when a purchase or a trade with cash on top works out: a transaction fee from whoever pays (1.5% + €0.25) and 4.9% from whoever receives the money. That pays for payment processing and running the platform. Lending among friends is free.
The platform grows together with the players and stores on site. Whatever is missing or annoying, we change quickly.
